Bird Adventures, Garden, and Wildlife from From My Carolina Home

Rain every day this past week has brought out the flowers in the garden and on the veranda. Almost every early morning, the valley and mountain ridge was heavy with clouds. The morning air was cool and almost fall-like, but more humid. Rain brings out the lush green, and everything is growing.

Sunday Chat and Critter Watch from From My Carolina Home

Someone was sitting nicely, paws folded on our front door mat the other day. The mat says ‘wipe your paws’ but I’m not sure he did so. Still, cuteness abounds and peanut butter sandwiches needed to be made and offered.

This week, I made my Summer Squash Casserole, with a slight change. After mashing the squash, I drained the water again to reduce the liquid in the dish. Sunday Chat from From My Carolina Home

Seems like the number of activities has increased exponentially lately. Maybe it is just the contrast from the past year of staying home. We are playing pickleball a couple of times a week now, and doing more with friends as well. Two trips to Atlanta to deal with issues with my mother in law’s home didn’t help. Sunday Chat from From My Carolina Home

This week sure has had its ups and downs. The euphoria of the new recommendations for vaccinated people being able to resume normal activities inside and outside was long awaited, and wonderful. So we feel free to meet our vaccinated friends, and have a meal inside a restaurant. But the flip side is that there was not a single gas station in our small town that had any gas for several days.
